It's confusing to mix vendored dependencies with neovim source code. A
clean separation is simpler to keep track of and simpler to document.

Solution: Do not clear but redraw in more cases. Add () to "wait_return".

Problem: "$*" is expanded to "nonomatch".
Solution: Only add "set nonomatch" when using a csh-like shell. (Christian
Brabandt, closes vim/vim#9159, closes vim/vim#9153)

Problem: Profiling functionality is spread out.
Solution: Put profiling functionality in profiling.c. (Yegappan Lakshmanan,
closes vim/vim#4666)

Problem: The mode #defines are not clearly named.
Solution: Prepend MODE_. Renumber them to put the mapped modes first.

A hunk from the patch depends on patch 8.2.4861, which hasn't been
ported yet, but that should be easy to notice.

Possibly dialog code is messages.c could be moved here as well.
misc1.c is now empty, so delete it.

Problem: Argument for message functions is inconsistent.
Solution: Make first argument to msg() "char *".

Problem: Giving error messages is not flexible.
Solution: Add semsg(). Change argument from "char_u *" to "char *", also
for msg() and get rid of most MSG macros. (Ozaki Kiichi, closes
vim/vim#3302) Also make emsg() accept a "char *" argument. Get rid of
an enormous number of type casts.

Problem: Various small code ugliness.
Solution: Remove pointless NULL checks. Fix function calls. Fix typos.

0c1be45ea0b7 changed pulse logic to output "[...]" instead of nothing.
But that doesn't align with the "..." pulse which may follow it.
ref #11130
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
- output "[...]" to indicate throttling is being used, instead of just
an empty line
- go to beginning of line after displaying the pulse, so that following
output is displayed over it
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
Pulse every 0.1s only.
This makes `!yes` look much better (less busy).
