Problem: Autocmd callbacks currently have to rely on curwin, which may
already have changed by the time they run. This is especially noticeable
for WinNew, WinClosed, WinResized and WinScrolled.
Solution: Track the window in the autocmd context and expose it as ev.win.
Pass it explicitly for the window events that need it.

This is a bit more boilerplate because of painful impedance mismatch (is
augroup names the root source of truth? is ids the source of truth? who
knows? what does truth even mean?), but show an error reflecting what
the caller actually tried (they passed in an invalid id, not a null
string)

Problem:
Cannot assign Lua functions/closures to "func" ('completefunc',
'tagfun', …) or "expr" ('foldexpr', 'indentexpr', …) options.
Solution:
- Store "func"/"expr" options as `Callback` instead of string.
- Delete oceans of copy-pasted code.
- BREAKING: LuaRef returned via RPC/Vimscript is now represented as
`"<Lua N: file:line>"` (like what `:map` shows) instead of `nil`.
- Note: `man.vim` still uses `v:lua` string, bc it's a vimscript ftplugin.

Problem:
nvim_create_autocmd() isn't |api-fast|, so modules that create autocmds
(e.g. vim.treesitter.query) can't be require()d in a fast event context.
Solution:
Mark it |api-fast|. Compile autocmd patterns with RE_NOBREAK so
aucmd_next() won't os_breakcheck() mid-iteration, where a fast
nvim_create_autocmd() could realloc the autocmds vector and dangle the
caller's AutoPat/AutoCmd.
RE_NOBREAK is low-risk because:
- aucmd_next()'s loop checks CTRL-C: `(for (… i < apc->ausize && !got_int; …)`.
- `line_breakcheck()` (`autocmd.c:1912`) runs once per matched autocmd.
- Each autocmd _execution_ runs through `do_cmdline`, which has its own
breakchecks.
However this does admit risk of a pathological case:
a catastrophic-backtracking glob matched against a very long `User`
event-pattern.

text-object-define is a pattern I found in tpope's plugins (e.g.
https://github.com/tpope/vim-jdaddy) which shows an elegant way to
define a text-object. (Any mistakes in the example are my fault.)

Problem: `nvim_exec_autocmds({ buf = ... })` matches the target buffer, but callbacks and modelines run with the caller buffer current rather than the target buffer.
Solution: Execute the buffered path in prepared target-buffer context and restore the caller afterward.

Problem:
Linter missed backtick and double-quote keynames in the quasi-keyset of
the `nvim_create_user_command` docstring.
Solution:
Update the linter to check backtick-surrounded and quote-surrounded key
names.

Problem:
Naming conventions are not automatically checked.
Solution:
Add a check to the doc generator. Eventually we should extract this
somehow, but that will require refactoring the doc generator...
Note: this also checks non-public functions, basically anything that
passes through `gen_eval_files.lua` and `gen_vimdoc.lua`. And that's
a good thing.

we renamed "buffer" to "buf" in dict parameters.
This commit also renames such keys in dict return-values.

Problem:
`:help dev-name-common` states that "buf" should be used instead of
"buffer" but there are cases where buffer is mentioned in the lua API.
Solution:
- Rename occurrences of "buffer" to "buf" for consistency with the
documentation.
- Support (but deprecate) "buffer" for backwards compatibility.

Problem: nvim_clear_autocmds() does not type check "event" correctly, and also
treats an empty array "event" like nil.
Solution: fix type checking. Treat empty array "event" as a no-op, like
nvim_exec_autocmds(). Add some extra tests.
Likewise the nil handling change may be considered breaking if anyone
(unintentionally) relied on that. It was also true that integer, function, etc.
"event"s would also be treated like nil!
Note that an empty string "event" is still an error, as that's must be an exact
match on an event name.

Problem: nvim_exec_autocmds() documentation incorrectly describes the default
for "pattern" as *, when it's actually the current file name (like :doautocmd).
Solution: correct it. Add a test.

Problem: in autocmd APIs, a non-nil "pattern" containing only empty
'sub'-patterns is silently treated as nil, causing the fallback value to be
unexpectedly used instead.
Solution: for nvim_create_autocmd(), raise a validation error (as no autocmds
would be created). For nvim_{exec,clear}_autocmds(), make it a no-op (as
matching no autocmds is not an error).

Solution: skip consecutive commas in an aupat.
Also simplify the logic.

These are not needed after #35129 but making uncrustify still play nice
with them was a bit tricky.
Unfortunately `uncrustify --update-config-with-doc` breaks strings
with backslashes. This issue has been reported upstream,
and in the meanwhile auto-update on every single run has been disabled.

- Render Lua types in api.txt.
- Added `DictAs(name)` API type which acts the same as `Dict` (no parens)
when generating the dispatchers, but acts the same as `Dict(name)`
when generating docs.
- Added `Tuple(...)` API type which is the treated the as `Array` for
generating the dispatchers, but is used to document richer types.
- Added `Enum(...)` API type to better document enums
- Improve typing of some API functions.
- Improve c_grammar to properly parse API types and replace string pattern
logic in the parsers.
- Removed all the hardcoded type overrides in gen_eval_files.lua

Problem:
`AucmdExecutable` adds 2 layers of indirection. Although formalizing
a `union` is good practice for shared interfaces, this struct is mainly
for `autocmd_register` which is internal to this module.
Solution:
- Store the cmd/fn fields directly on the `AutoCmd` struct.
- Drop `AucmdExecutable` and related structures.

Problem: In an autocommand Lua callback whether `args.file` is expanded
depends on whether `expand('<afile>')` has been called.
Solution: Always use the unexpanded file name for `args.file`.
Related to #31306 and vim/vim#16106. This doesn't provide `sfname`, but
at least makes `args.file` have a consistent value.

In the api_info() output:
:new|put =map(filter(api_info().functions, '!has_key(v:val,''deprecated_since'')'), 'v:val')
...
{'return_type': 'ArrayOf(Integer, 2)', 'name': 'nvim_win_get_position', 'method': v:true, 'parameters': [['Window', 'window']], 'since': 1}
The `ArrayOf(Integer, 2)` return type didn't break clients when we added
it, which is evidence that clients don't use the `return_type` field,
thus renaming Dictionary => Dict in api_info() is not (in practice)
a breaking change.

Problem:
The documentation flow (`gen_vimdoc.py`) has several issues:
- it's not very versatile
- depends on doxygen
- doesn't work well with Lua code as it requires an awkward filter script to convert it into pseudo-C.
- The intermediate XML files and filters makes it too much like a rube goldberg machine.
Solution:
Re-implement the flow using Lua, LPEG and treesitter.
- `gen_vimdoc.py` is now replaced with `gen_vimdoc.lua` and replicates a portion of the logic.
- `lua2dox.lua` is gone!
- No more XML files.
- Doxygen is now longer used and instead we now use:
- LPEG for comment parsing (see `scripts/luacats_grammar.lua` and `scripts/cdoc_grammar.lua`).
- LPEG for C parsing (see `scripts/cdoc_parser.lua`)
- Lua patterns for Lua parsing (see `scripts/luacats_parser.lua`).
- Treesitter for Markdown parsing (see `scripts/text_utils.lua`).
- The generated `runtime/doc/*.mpack` files have been removed.
- `scripts/gen_eval_files.lua` now instead uses `scripts/cdoc_parser.lua` directly.
- Text wrapping is implemented in `scripts/text_utils.lua` and appears to produce more consistent results (the main contributer to the diff of this change).

https://github.com/neovim/neovim/pull/27428 changed the semantics of
callbacks passed to nvim_create_autocmd such that any truthy value will
delete the autocommand (rather than just the literal boolean value
`true`). Update the documentation accordingly and add an entry to
`news.txt`.
The behavior is now consistent between nvim_create_autocmd and
nvim_buf_attach.

and for return value of nlua_exec/nlua_call_ref, as this uses
the same family of functions.
NB: the handling of luaref:s is a bit of a mess.
add api_luarefs_free_XX functions as a stop-gap as refactoring
luarefs is a can of worms for another PR:s.
as a minor feature/bug-fix, nvim_buf_call and nvim_win_call now preserves
arbitrary return values.

Remove `export` pramgas from defs headers as it causes IWYU to believe
that the definitions from the defs headers comes from main header, which
is not what we really want.

FUNC_ATTR_* should only be used in .c files with generated headers.
Defining FUNC_ATTR_* as empty in headers causes misuses of them to be
silently ignored. Instead don't define them by default, and only define
them as empty after a .c file has included its generated header.

We already have an extensive suite of static analysis tools we use,
which causes a fair bit of redundancy as we get duplicate warnings. PVS
is also prone to give false warnings which creates a lot of work to
identify and disable.

Problem: The style guide states that all switch statements that are not conditional on an enum must have a `default` case, but does not give any explicit guideline for switch statements that are conditional on enums. As a result, a `default` case is added in many enum switch statements, even when the switch statement is exhaustive. This is not ideal because it removes the ability to have compiler errors to easily detect unchanged switch statements when a new possible value for an enum is added.
Solution: Add explicit guidelines for switch statements that are conditional on an enum, clarifying that a `default` case is not necessary if the switch statement is exhaustive. Also refactor pre-existing code with unnecessary `default` cases.

"VimEnter foo" was accepted as a valid event name for "VimEnter".
Events delimited with commas, eg. "VimEnter,BufRead", were also
accepted, even though only the first event was actually parsed.
