Problem:
The magic globals `it`, `describe`, etc., are more trouble than they are
worth.
- Hooking into `after_each` requires `getfenv()` hacks.
- They confuse luals/emmylua, because the top-level `.luarc.json` isn't
merged with `test/.luarc.json` (apparently a luals limitation?)
- They totally defeat discoverability because the user just has to
"know" about the various magic symbols.
So they harm DX, which means they serve no purpose at all.
Solution:
- Expose the test API from `testutil`, so tests can call `t.it()`,
`t.describe()`, etc., in the conventional way.
- Drop `getfenv()` hacks.
- Drop the `setfenv()` injection in `load_chunk`.
- Drop `test/_meta.lua`.

(#39517)
Problem: With $d='[dir]', `:e $d/file.txt` opens the wrong file,
`:e $d/<Tab>` fails to complete, and `glob('$d/*')` returns
nothing. Wildcard characters inside expanded environment
variables get picked up by globbing again.
Solution: Turn the 4th parameter of expand_env_esc() from a bool into a
string of characters to escape in each expanded value. Callers
that pass the result to wildcard expansion should include
PATH_ESC_WILDCARDS in addition to " \t" (glepnir).

Problem:
vim.uv.os_setenv gets "stuck" per-key. #32550
Caused by the internal `envmap` cache. #7920
:echo $FOO <-- prints nothing
:lua vim.uv.os_setenv("FOO", "bar")
:echo $FOO <-- prints bar (as expected)
:lua vim.uv.os_setenv("FOO", "fizz")
:echo $FOO <-- prints bar, still (not expected. Should be "fizz")
:lua vim.uv.os_unsetenv("FOO")
:echo $FOO <-- prints bar, still (not expected. Should be nothing)
:lua vim.uv.os_setenv("FOO", "buzz")
:echo $FOO <-- prints bar, still (not expected. Should be "buzz")
Solution:
- Remove the `envmap` cache.
- Callers to `os_getenv` must free the result.
- Update all call-sites.
- Introduce `os_getenv_noalloc`.
- Extend `os_env_exists()` the `nonempty` parameter.

Problem:
Not all Lua code is checked by stylua. Automating code-style is an
important mechanism for reducing time spent on accidental
(non-essential) complexity.
Solution:
- Enable lintlua for `test/unit/` directory.
- TODO: only `test/functional/` remains unchecked.

test: replace lfs with luv
luv already pretty much does everything lfs does, so this duplication
of dependencies isn't needed.

Problem:
- Since c57f6b28d71d #8519, sockets are created in ~/.local/… but XDG
spec says: "XDG_RUNTIME_DIR: Must be on the local filesystem", which
implies that XDG_STATE_DIR is potentially non-local.
- Not easy to inspect Nvim-created temp files (for debugging etc).
Solution:
- Store sockets in stdpath('run') ($XDG_RUNTIME_DIR).
- Establish "/tmp/nvim.user/" as the tempdir root shared by all Nvims.
- Make ok() actually useful.
- Introduce assert_nolog().

Seems like redundant env var separators (";" on Windows) in $PATH can
cause weird behavior. From #7377:
> After some time, system(['win32yank', '-o']) and system('win32yank -o')
> start returning different results: specifically first returns an
> empty string.
>
> 1. $PATH weirdly contains double semicolon followed by path to the
> “installation directory” (unpacked directory from archive).
> 2. If I run `let $PATH=substitute($PATH, ';;', ';', 'g')` the problem is fixed.

- Minimum required libuv is now v1.12
- Because `uv_os_getenv` requires allocating, we must manage a map
(`envmap` in `env.c`) to maintain the old behavior of `os_getenv` .
- free() map-items after removal. khash.h does not make copies of
anything, so even its keys must be memory-managed by the caller.

Running this test with a mocked passwd file whose $HOME was set to
/home/jamessan/src/debian.org/pkg-vim/deb-packages/neovim/neovim-0.2.0/debian/fakehome
caused the test to fail, since the expanded result was >= 99 bytes. The
test should be reflecting the actual size of the buffer, instead of some
arbitrary other number, anwyay.

If procfs is missing then libuv cannot find the exe path.

Used
sed -r -i -e '/ helpers =/ s/$/\nlocal itp = helpers.gen_itp(it)/; s/^(\s*)it\(/\1itp(/' test/unit/**/*_spec.lua
to alter all tests. Locally they all run fine now.
Reasoning:
1. General: state from one test should not affect other tests.
2. Local: travis build is failing with something which may be an output of
garbage collector. This should prevent state of the garbage collector from
interferring as well.

This allows executables to be found by :!, system(), and executable() if
they live next to ("sibling" to) nvim.exe. This is what gvim on Windows
does, and also matches the behavior of Win32 SearchPath().

Although UNIX is a registered trademark of The Open Group, it doesn't
really matter whether we refer to these systems as UNIX, Unix, or
Unix-like. So, for consistency, refer to them collectively as Unix.

- In UNIX systems where unsetenv() is available, it is used. Otherwise
the variables are set with the empty string.
- New check HAVE_UNSETENV for unsetenv()
- Added unit test to env_spec.lua
